Why do courts and employers rely entirely on a test that isn’t even accurate? If you take a cough pill and show up as PCP on parole, you are going to end up back in prison after they screen you, but cough medicine is NOT actually this “PCP” chemical. When our career and freedom is on the line, these screening kits should not be used. We need to sue and get these things out of production! I don’t even know why a doctor’s office would use one. How exactly are they “therapeutic”? Doctors are supposed not to harm!
False positives on urine drug tests can occur when legal substances or medical conditions trigger a result that mimics illicit drugs. Initial immunoassay screening tests, which use antibodies to detect substances, are not 100% specific and are known to produce false positives. (Google AI).
Antidepressants, decongestants, and dextromethorphan (Robitussin, Delsym) are examples of medications that can cause a false positive. (GoodRX.com)
Makers of immunoassay tests continually refine the sensitivity of the test panels to reduce the likelihood of false positive test results but with the growing number of substances – particularly prescription drugs – it may always be an issue with immunoassay testing.
UDS false-postive reaction agents:

By the way, those online charts of how long a chemical stays UDS triggerable are not exactly accurate either. I have had a benzodiazepine flag 40 days after I took the last pill. I have had THC show up due to bad liver enzymes. I don’t know who gave these the power of God himself to judge us, but it is wrong!
